The inaugural awards mark a milestone for Tyrannus Foundation as co-founder Chantel Chang turns a faith-rooted mission into opportunities for filmmakers.
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, September 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Tyrannus Angel Awards has received 633 submissions from more than 80 countries in its inaugural year, according to the organizing team. Winners will be announced on October 1, 2026, marking the next milestone for the new AI film awards initiative.
Organized by Tyrannus Foundation, the awards recognize creative work, while the foundation’s upcoming AI Film Summit Los Angeles connects filmmaking with professional development. Selected films will be featured in the summit’s Screening Room on October 24 at City Club Los Angeles, bringing work from the inaugural competition before an in-person audience.
For co-founder and event producer Chantel Chang, the international response brings a central question into focus: how can emerging creators turn the ability to make a film into an opportunity to build a future?
“AI is reshaping the filmmaking landscape, ushering in a new era in which individuals and small teams have the opportunity to turn compelling stories into beautifully crafted films,” Chang said. “We want to help those stories find their audiences—and help the people behind them build a future for their creativity.”
From Creative Access to Professional Opportunity
Chang leads brand development, marketing and event production, working with her fellow founders to connect the foundation’s mission with creators, industry participants and community partners.
Her perspective is that access to production tools addresses only part of a creator’s challenge. Completing a film still leaves questions about finding an audience, developing professional relationships, protecting the work and generating income that supports continued creation.
“The question is no longer whether AI can be used to make films,” Chang said. “It is how the industry can adapt so that creators, audiences and industry partners all benefit—and how compelling work can reach audiences and sustain the people who create it. That is why we are bringing conversations about production, careers, distribution and ownership into the same room.”
Those questions shape AI Film Summit Los Angeles 2026. Its four panel themes—MAKE IT, BUILD A CAREER, SELL IT and OWN IT—will explore the steps between creative experimentation and professional practice.
The planned program also includes an interactive Creator Lab, a Screening Room featuring selected films, and Industry Exchange opportunities. Attendees will be able to explore AI-assisted creation, encounter filmmakers’ work and connect with speakers and industry professionals.
The Creative and Commercial Perspective Behind the Work
Chang’s background spans the arts, fashion, film and entertainment, marketing, and finance—a combination that informs her eye for creative potential and her understanding of what it takes to bring a vision to life.
In shaping the brand and event experience with her fellow founders, Chang focuses on how each element—from a screening to an industry conversation—can help participants move their own work forward.
A Mission Rooted in Faith, Open to the World
Chang traces her involvement to years of prayer about how she could use her abilities to serve.
“Matthew 6:33 says, ‘But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well,’” Chang said. “For me, that means allowing our faith to shape how we build, how we treat people and what we choose to support. We do the work with care and trust God with the outcome. I am deeply grateful for these 633 submissions and mindful of our responsibility to the creators behind them.”

Tyrannus Angel Awards will announce its inaugural winners on October 1. AI Film Summit Los Angeles 2026 will follow on October 24, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at City Club Los Angeles.
